Aches and pains through the day? This works!

I was getting aches and pains in my back and my neck from sitting at my computer too long, and I had read that "Sitting is the New Smoking" and that it's one of the worst things that we can do for our health. So I decided to get up once an hour.| But I kept forgetting. So I got a little kitchen timer. It goes off every hour and reminds me to get up. And that ended up solving a second problem, which was that I wasn't drinking enough water. And now every time I get up, I go get a glass of water from the kitchen. I hope that helps. I love giving tips, and if you'd like more tips, I've got more in my best selling book on Amazon, Staying Young at Any Age:15 Simple Steps to Turn Back the Clock.

It's not your fault! Tips on being Naturally Thin

If you want to lose weight without dieting, this video is for you, and it's short but crucially important.

If you want to give up the world of yo yo dieting, calories, stressing out, having this be almost an obsession,I'm going to tell you some really important information about how to be naturally thin, and how to lose weight without dieting.

It all has to do with our genetics, which go back to caveman days. When we first were on the earth, our genetics were set up to keep us alive.

Our subconscious mind and our bodies are still all about keeping us alive. That hasn't changed. What that means is, we still have the programming from back then to keep on weight if there is a famine, or if food is scarce.

We have food all around us now, but if that programming gets triggered off by stress, then our bodies and our subconscious minds are going to do everything they can to hold on to every calorie, every bit of fat, because the most important thing to the subconscious mind is to keep us alive.

It doesn't care if we're fat, doesn't care if we don't like the way we look. If we're alive, it's doing its job.

Our conscious mind is like the end of my thumb, our subconscious mind is like my whole hand down to my wrist and my thumb.

So you've got the conscious mind saying, "I want to lose weight. I don't want to be fat."

But if the subconscious mind feels it's important have that weight on, it's going to take you there every time. It's David and Goliath.

That's the programming that gets triggered off in certain circumstances.

When our genetics were formed, that program was triggered by things like hunger.

Today, that nasty programming program (that won't let us lose weight) gets triggered by things like technology, traffic jams, fear about meeting our mortgage, the stock market going down, job problems, family members -- on and on and on.

We're surrounded by stress all the time, and if we're not dealing with it regularly, and in a powerful way, it's triggering off the reaction that "Holy Toledo, things are dangerous. We have to hold on to all of our weight because we don't know what's going to happen."

That's how the brain reacts when there's stress. That it's in danger. So it's not your fault!

It holds on to every calorie and it refuses to let us lose weight - and It can make us gain more weight. So, the important thing is to get control of your stress.

And the thing with stress is that we all experience it on a regular basis. We are like fish swimming in water, so we're not always aware when we're stressed. We have to just assume we are.

The news is enough to stress you out, right?

That's a genetic thing. It's not going to change.

People who are naturally thin might seem like they have high metabolisms, and they might, but most of all they do NOT have that fat programming turned on. They have the naturally thin program turned on. And you can have that too.

There are a few ways to do that.

One is visualizing, which I'll talk about another day.

Another is eating whole foods and, and staying away from processed, refined foods. It's not a diet. It's just choosing. better foods. And I'll talk about that another day as well.

But the biggest one is stress - but when you hear about stress all the time, it kind of makes you numb to it and not pay attention to it.

I'm asking you to pay attention to it.

"Relax and Let Go" is one of my most popular audios. Just email me if you want me to send it to you.

If you've already gotten it from me, let me know and I'll send you something else. It is an audio that I send out pretty often .

Consistency, by the way, is another key. You can't do things once or twice or three times. We're talking about mental shifts here. Lifestyle shifts that are permanent.

So listen to this audio at night as you go to sleep or during the day on a break. It's really helpful to go to sleep to a hypnosis audio. It helps you sleep better and reduces your overall stress.

And do intentional breathing during the day, because we are like fish swimming in the most incredible stress -- that we were never designed to have.

So about once an hour, take a couple of minutes to do some breathing. Close your eyes and just chill out. Think about a beach.

Two, three minutes goes a long way, and so does even one minute.

If you do that through the day, it will bring that stress level down and allow you to be naturally thin.

And just email me at diannawhitley@me.com with the word RELAX in the subject line if you want my audio "Relax and Let Go."

18 Hidden Ways to Burn More Calories All Day Long!

NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis) is the energy we spend on things like sleeping, eating, or exercise.

It can play a significant role in burning off calories - - and it even includes fidgeting!

I'm all about changing your mindset, automatic habits, and your subconscious beliefs - but this is important too.

Here are some ways to increase NEAT:

Stress Balls and Spinners: Using a fidget spinner or squeezing a stress ball can keep your hands moving and burn a extra calories.

Moving Meetings: If possible, have walking meetings instead of sitting in a conference room or on a video call.

Move While You Brush Your Teeth: Pace around or balance on one leg.

Fidgeting: Small movements like tapping your feet, drumming your fingers, or bouncing your leg can increase calorie burn.

Stretch While You Watch TV: Do some gentle stretching or light yoga when you watch your favorite shows.

Desk Exercises: Simple exercises like leg lifts, seated marches, or desk push-ups can keep you active even when you're working at your desk.

Dancing: Turn on some music and dance around your home.

Cleaning Out Closets or Drawers: Organizing and decluttering keeps you active and moving.

Using the Stairs: Whenever possible, take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. This can add more movement and elevate your heart rate.

Walking: Add more walking into your day by parking farther from entrances, go for short walks during breaks, meet a friend and walk instead of going out to eat.

Standing: Use a standing desk or take standing breaks if you have a sedentary job. It  can improve your posture, give you more energy, and burn more calories

Household Chores: Cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, and other household chores can significantly add to calorie expenditure.

Gardening: Activities like planting, weeding, and watering plants can be a great way to stay active and burn calories.

Pacing: When you're on the phone or thinking, pace around. This can add up to a significant amount of movement over time.

Stretching: Regular stretching can keep your muscles active and prevent stiffness, especially if you have a sedentary job.

Play with Pets or Kids: It can be fun, and it keeps you active and burns calories.

Errands on Foot: If possible, walk or bike to run errands instead of driving.

Active Commuting: If you use public transportation, get off a stop early and walk the rest of the way. If you drive, park farther away from your destination.

By adding more NEAT activities into your day, you can increase your burn more calories as you go through your day.

AND -- you can do visualizations while you do a lot of them!

My new program, Think and Grow Thin, is coming up soon, and because it's a Beta program it will be at a huge discount (it's similar but different than my other programs, Lose Weight While You Sleep, and Drop a Size in 30 Days.

Just let me know if you would like more information about it.

MEDITATION—THE NEW MEDICATION

MEDITATION—THE NEW MEDICATION

While meditation and mindfulness have been making headlines lately, both have been practiced for thousands of years all over the world. It may be as simple as breathing in deeply, and setting your focus to the present moment, to more disciplined practices, such as transcendental meditation (TM), which was popularized in the 60’s.
The problem with meditation is it’s often easier said than done, especially in today’s high-tech, working-every-minute environment. But, taking the time to meditate is equally as important to your health as exercise. And today, with painkiller addiction rates spiraling out of control, a safe, natural solution to stress-related ailments is essential to our nation’s health.
Meditation, when done properly, triggers the body’s natural relaxation response, which is the opposite of the fight-or-flight response. Slower meditative brain signals tell your muscles to relax and your organs to slow down. It sets the stage for your body to detoxify itself, including eliminating excess adrenaline, which can otherwise contribute to its toxic burden. Meditation also naturally increases blood flow to the brain.
Meditation, or mind calming exercises like mindfulness that focus on breathing and awareness of the present moment, have proven to help improve health and quality of life by improving sleep, memory, and relieving stress and anxiety, just to name a few.

Neuro-plasticity
Sustained meditation leads to something called neuroplasticity, which is the brain’s ability to change, physically and functionally, based on environmental input. Before now, scientists thought the brain essentially finished changing and growing after adulthood. Research from the University of Wisconsin has indicated that experienced meditators show high levels of gamma wave activity. Gamma waves are associated with increased mental activity/cognitive enhancement, freedom from distractibility, high levels of info-processing, learning and focus, high short-term memory ability, and migraine prevention. The research also proved the same people displayed the ability to control their reactiveness to a given stimulus, after a meditation session. (1)
Meditation Reduces the Risk of Heart Disease
A large research study was published in 2012, indicating meditation can reduce your chance of heart disease by almost 50%. A group of 201 people were split into two groups. They were asked to choose between taking a class on TM and a class promoting an improved diet and exercise. The results were astonishing. The students who meditated reduced their chance of heart disease by 48%. (2)
Anti-aging
A study done by the University of California, showed that long term meditators have higher Telomerase activity compared to those who do not meditate. Telomerase is the enzyme that helps build Telomeres, the protective caps at the end of our chromosomes. Longer telomeres mean that you’re likely to live longer. Thus, more telomerase activity can conceivably translate into stronger and longer telomeres. (3)
Improved Memory and Learning
A recent study from Harvard showed measurable positive changes to the brain in just 8 weeks. For just 27 minutes a day, the participants meditated and the results were astonishing. There was increased grey-matter density in the hippocampus, known to be important for learning and memory, self-awareness, compassion, and introspection. (4)
 Pain Relief
According to the Journal of Neuroscience, meditation produces pain relieving effects that were more effective than morphine or other pain-relieving drugs, which typically reduce pain ratings by about 25%. Their research showed a 40% reduction in pain intensity and a 57% reduction in pain unpleasantness. (5)
Better Sleep
1 in 6 people have insomnia today. According to Harvard’s Health Blog, meditation improves sleep. If you find yourself getting poor sleep, resulting in daytime sleepiness, meditation could be your answer. Researchers recommend meditation for 20 minutes a day to positively affect your sleep and energy throughout the day. (6)
Meditation is proving to be a tonic for your body and your consciousness, and with no negative side-effects, it certainly makes sense to try it out before turning to dangerous pharmaceuticals. Can meditation be addictive? Well, some of us at BrainTap have been meditating for 30+ years, and we think it’s the best addiction going!
With the evolution of modern technology like the BrainTap headset, you can now reach deep meditative states using light and sound frequencies to guide your brainwaves. This is a plus for those who have trouble meditating because the frequencies gently guide you, along with relaxing music and often guided visualization. What is Hypnosis? Will it Really Help Me?

Hypnosis is a much simpler state than most people think it is. Hollywood has distorted the way people think about it so much, I prefer to describe it as simply being in a relaxed state, combined with visualization.

Everything starts in the mind. The subconscious is the control center, determining everything from our body temperature and blood pressure to our habits and emotional reactions.

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis in the end, as no one can be made to do something they don’t want to do, and it works because of the power of suggestion. Athletes, actors, and business people use it to perform at the optimum level.

A trance is very much like daydreaming. Daniel Handel, a physician at the National Institutes of Health describes it as similar to watching a movie that makes you to lose track of time. “You are in an altered state of consciousness…deeply absorbed but responsive to suggestions.”

Handel uses hypnosis with cancer patients who feel nauseated during chemotherapy sessions. Just the thought of the sessions, the smell of the hospital, or the drive there can make some people feel sick. “It’s a learned response,” he says, and explains that teaches them to relax and put themselves somewhere pleasurable instead.

The power of the mind is so strong, surgeons used hypnosis during the Civil War, when they didn’t have anesthesia. It can help people lose weight, quit smoking, cope with pain, have less stress, more confidence, get rid of bad habits and establish new ones. It can bring major relief to people who suffer from things like Fibromyalgia and IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Matt Damon quit smoking with hypnosis. Kate Middleton used it to alleviate her morning sickness, and Tiger Woods used it to improve his golf game when he was new to the circuit.

People often tell me they don’t think they can be hypnotized, but that is hardly ever true. There are only 3 reasons people can’t be hypnotized: they have a very low IQ, they are on drugs or alcohol at the time of the session (they are already in a trance), or they are determined not to be.

The last category doesn’t mean someone with mixed feelings. Most people who want to stop a bad habit do have some conflicting feelings about it – but if they want to stop, hypnosis is the easiest and fastest way to do it.

And contrary to what most people think, the smarter and more imaginative people are, the better subjects they make!

If you want to experience the power of relaxation and visualization, I would like to send you the access to over 600 different audio sessions at absolutely no cost - no obligation, no credit card required.
