                     Wiping Out Stress

The stress in our world is on an unprecedented level today. This "Super-Stress" is pervasive in the high-tech, fast-paced world we're living in.

A staggering 44% of Americans report they have more stress today than they did 5 years ago, with one in five reporting "extreme stress" with symptoms such as heart palpitations, shaking and depression (from www.stress.org).

The effects of stress on our health, productivity, and quality of life are more devastating than most people want to admit or even think about, making stress reduction a necessity in most people's lives.

Stress is the cause of 60% of the illnesses that we suffer today and it increases the risk of heart disease, stroke and heart attacks.

It is the primary contributor to the epidemics of obesity, accelerated aging, high blood pressure, gastro-intestinal disorders, diabetes, anxiety, and insomnia – all of which are exploding in America today.

Stopping the ravages of stress is the #1 way to attain brilliant good health in your mind and body, so that you can create the life you've always wanted.

Super-Stress can even change the very structure of your brain, creating panic attacks, phobias, chemical dependency and eating disorders. Experiencing these things can be frightening and even life threatening.

Luckily, there are solutions, and a lot of them!

You can regain control, and let your fears, frustrations and anxiety fade away. There are safe, natural solution to combat the effects of Super-Stress on our bodies—and I will be talking about some of them in this blog in the weeks and months ahead, so stay tuned.

You will learn new techniques and tools, in order to release tension and negative thoughts, reduce uncertainty and doubt, make peace with your past, and create a stress free body and mind.

The first tool I want to talk about is Visualization. This will provide a roadmap to stress-free living. With a new self image, you are well on your way to letting go of stress, so that you  gain control of your life, your health, and your energy.

Have you seen that red button in Staples that says "That was Easy?"

As simple as it might sound, simply visualizing yourself as the healthy, happy, optimistic, relaxed and confidant person that you'd probably like to be! It's one of the most powerful ways to make that happen!

Can we really change our lives so easily, by simply using the power of our own minds? Yes!

An article was published in Women’s Health 2012, where the author talks about the power of the mind and how it can affect our physical bodies.

The main point of the article was that if you believe a treatment or a medication will work, in most instances,
it does. Your mind can actually create physical changes in your body—easily, naturally, and without side effects.

One example is a study that was done on St. John’s Wort versus Zoloft. The researchers discovered that both treatments eased symptoms in patients at about the same rate, but the astonishing thing was that a placebo beat both of them by more than 8%!

Why? Because the brain's job is to solve problems. The expectation that something can work can actually trigger the brain to solve the problem on its own. Your body has its own pharmacy, right inside your brain, ready to solve whatever it is presented with.

This makes it possible to let go of the destructive effects of stress, maintain a positive attitude, an open mind, and a new self image, so that you can allow yourself to believe in the power of your own mind, and it's ability to create huge changes in your life! And you may be surprised at how easy it can be.
